Accommodation

Our location is unique and in a fabulous position on the foreshore of Cawsand Bay. The property was originally an actual Admiralty Boat House. For centuries, serving the Navy fleet which would anchor in the Bay, whilst seeking protection from westerly gales or awaiting fresh orders from the Admiralty. Many men from Cawsand and Kingsand were either in the navy or were press-ganged into it! Most were sea-farers anyway, as fishing and smuggling was the norm. In the last war, the property was acquisitioned to house a machine gun post - the beach being a possible invasion landing site. After the war it was sold and made into living accommodation which changed slightly over the years. The house was completely renovated 2005. Some images of the house are included below. Ground Floor

Coming in through the front door, to a porch leading to the lounge, passing a small toilet closet. The lounge which is 22ft long and offers stunning sea views across the bay, with some magnificent sunrises - if you happen to get up that early. The ‘boat house’ feel to the lounge, we hope offers a calming and relaxing atmosphere with the sea staring back at you through the very large window.

Further into the back of the lounge, is a small dining area with fitted pine furniture.

A door leads from there into the kitchen, again with a sea-side feel, with all the usual appliances including a dishwasher, fridges/freezers etc. (and running water!!)

A rear door leads to a small back yard where the bins are. This is a useful area for drying and storing beach gear.
Back to the hall, the stairs lead to the upper floors. All bedrooms have full en suite facilities and come with a TV (plus coffee/tea making facilities for B & B guests)

First floor

On the first floor there are two double bedrooms.
The double room at the front of the house contains a four poster bed, where you can relax in bed and look out over the sea and pretend you are on a luxury liner! Even the en-suite has a sea view!

The second double bedroom at the rear of the first floor also has a large double bed, An en-suite room hides an alcove, with washing machine and tumble dryer.

From the rear bedroom there is a glass door which leads onto a tiled balcony which can be a sun trap and gets very hot as the surrounding old Cornish walls keeps out any wind. There are planters filled with flowers and green shrubs, attracting the birds. If you want even more peace and quiet, you can sit out under the sun shade or bask in the sun.

Second floor

The second floor bedroom consists of two single beds as well as 2 single futons/seats for extra sleeping capacity. When used for Bed and Breakfast, we call this the ‘family room’ or just the twin room. Again, an en-suite shower-room completes the facilities As you see, the large window to the front of the house allows an excellent vantage point for viewing the surrounding vista which offers up a most amazing panorama over the whole of Cawsand Bay. In fact, you feel you are flying with the seagulls! Your mood soars to new heights!!
